Canadian police seek suspect accused of scrambling 400 cars – NBC Los Angeles

Police in Canada are searching for a woman accused of damaging hundreds of cars in the Vancouver area, causing more than $500,000 in damage.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Coquitlam, a city in the Canadian province of British Columbia, released surveillance video It shows a suspect encrypting multiple cars at a dealership.

According to the police, the incidents happened on Journey Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram dealership on Dominion Avenueand a second location in Port Coquitlam.

Coquitlam has a population of just under 150,000 and is located about 45 minutes north of the western US border.

Police said they received three reports of “mass car key incidents” between January and April.

According to the police, the suspect is also accused of damaging the exterior of one of the shops.

The suspect is described as a woman in her 40s and 50s with shoulder-length blonde hair.

“It is clear from the videos that the suspect intentionally scratched the vehicles one at a time,” Corporal Alexa Hodgins of the Coquitlam RCMP said in a statement. “Our investigators continue to follow up all leads but are making requests for public assistance in identifying the suspect.”

According to police, the suspect wore glasses, gloves, a knitted hat and a face mask and was driving a 2008-2013 Ford Escape.
