A Canadian reporter appeared to be suffering from a medical emergency while presenting a live segment over the weekend.
Reporter Jessica Robb, who works for the CTV Television Network in Edmonton, is said to be doing “well”.
Robb was presenting a segment on CTV on Sunday when she told the host “I don’t feel well.” She fainted and started repeating her words.
“Sorry, Nahreman, I’m not feeling great right now, and I’m about to…” Robb said while speaking to Nahreman Issa, the CTV studio anchor.
Robb’s eyes widened and she began to wobble while seeming to have difficulty standing. The stream was then cut at the studio, with Issa assuring viewers that Robb was not alone and had support.
“We’ll get back to you. Right now, we’ll make sure Jessica is okay and we’ll give you an update a bit later,” Issa said at the end of the stream.
CTV Edmonton then tweeted and thanked everyone who inquired about the reporter. “Jessica Robb is feeling better and resting now,” the network said.
Robb also shared an update on his Twitter, but his account was later made private. “Thank you to everyone who reached out, my cameraman, [Sean McClune] to be there for me, & [Nahreman Issa] to be an absolute pro (as usual),” she wrote.
“A very personal and vulnerable moment unfolded on Sunday evening while I was reporting live,” the reporter later said in a statement.
“To everyone who has reached out with messages of support, good wishes and concern, thank you. It’s been overwhelming, and while I can’t access all of the posts, please know that I’ve seen them and appreciate every one of them,” she continued.
“I have also received an overwhelming amount of harassment and hate, related to false theories about the reason for the incident. Although I do not publicly share private medical information, I can say that there is no nothing to worry about and that my understanding of my own medical history provides a reasonable explanation for what happened.
“I can, however, confirm that the situation was in no way related to the Covid-19 vaccine,” she added.
