Canadian ice hockey team announces roster for 2022 Olympics
Canada’s team for the 2022 Olympics has been announced.
25 Canadian hockey players will go to Beijing, nine of whom play in the KHL.
Team Canada for the 2022 Olympic Games:
Guardians: Devon Levy (Northeastern University, NCAA), Eddie Pasquale (Locomotive), Matt Tomkins (Frölunda, Sweden);
Defenders: Brandon Gormley (Lokomotiv), Alex Grant (Jokerite, Helsinki), Owen Power (University of Michigan, NCAA), Tyler Wotherspoon (Utica, AHL), Matt Robinson (SKA), Mark Barberio, Jason Demers (both – “Ak Bars ” ), Maxim Noro (“Zurich”, Switzerland);
Forwards: Daniel Carr (Lugano, Switzerland), Daniel Winnick (Geneva, Switzerland), Korban Knight (Vanguard), Adam Cracknell (Bakersfield, AHL), Ben Street (Munich, Germany), Mason McTavish (Hamilton, OHL), Jack McBain (Boston College, NCAA), Landon Ferraro (Kölner Haie, Germany), Eric Staal (Iowa, AHL), David Dearne (Fribourg-Gotteron, Switzerland), Adam Tambellini (Rögle, Sweden), Jordan Weale (Ak Bars), Eric O’ Dell (Dynamo Moscow), Josh Ho-Sang (Toronto, AHL).
Recall that the hockey tournament at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing will begin on February 9. Team Canada in its first match will play with the German team (February 10, 16:10 Moscow time).
The IIHF had previously released the Canadian squad roster, but quickly deleted its post as the official announcement was only scheduled for January 25.
