Ceará is about to confirm another investment in the mining sector. According to the secretary for economic development and state government work, Canadian society Mining raft is expected to invest R $ 54 million in the initial operation.
The contribution will be made for the exploration of iron ore and vanadium in the town of Taua. There is, however, no forecast for the start of operations in the state.
Over the next few weeks, the Canadian company and the state government are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding so that work can begin.
Potentials explored
In addition, the Secretary for Economic Development of Ceará confirmed, during the opening ceremony of Proenergia 2021, that the state had been selected for a program of the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) for a study of validation of mining potential for exploration.
“We are celebrating an agreement with the CPRE, which is linked to the Ministry of Mines and Energy, to choose three states where an in-depth study of mineral potential will be carried out. We make this agreement and Ceará was one of those chosen to advance in the validation of mineral reserves.
Energy sector event
Proenergia is an annual event organized by the Union of Energy and Electricity Sector Services Industries of the State of Ceará (Sindienergia-CE), in partnership with the Federation of Industries of the State of Ceará (FIEC) and the Brazilian Micro Support Services and Small Businesses (Sebrae).
This year’s inauguration took place in the presence of Minister Bento Albuquerque (Mines and Energy).
