Army to train in Lac Du Bois

According to the Canadian Armed Forces, Army Reserve units from the Lower Mainland will conduct training exercises in the Lac Du Bois area later this month, firing blanks and conducting night drills.
Members of the British Columbia Regiment, Seaforth Highlanders of Canada, Royal Westminster Regiment and 39 Service Support Regiment will take part in the training, which will take place October 26-29.
According to the Armed Forces, Soldiers from these regiments train in evenings and weekends while serving part-time, and Army Reserve units gradually work together to maintain their combined arms training proficiency.
Nearby residents should expect to hear occasional noise from the firing of blanks and increased traffic entering and exiting the Lac Du Bois ORV area. A large administrative warehouse can also be visited by residents.
According to the Bundeswehr, health and safety measures are guaranteed at all times.
Training is aligned with CAF’s multi-layered risk mitigation strategy, Public Health Agency of Canada guidelines, and municipal and regional health authority guidelines.
