Several Calgary restaurants are on a new list Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants for 2024.
The list, released Monday, was compiled by 150 judges representing a mix of culinary enthusiasts, food writers and critics, chefs, restaurateurs and other food service professionals.
“Each juror must vote for at least three restaurants outside of their home region. Many tables later, the resulting list is an accurate measure of which restaurants stood out,” explains the website Canada’s 100 Best.
Calgary spots on the 2024 list include:
“We feel incredibly privileged to have once again made the list of Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants alongside so many exceptional restaurants,” River Café’s Sal Howell said in a press release Tuesday.
“We’re excited to be part of our city’s vibrant culinary scene.”
Other featured locations in Alberta include: Änkor in Canmore, the website says has unparalleled artistry on his plates.
“Chef Danny Beaulieu brings together sophisticated flavors – fermented plums paired with house dry-aged duck and smoky lapsang souchong tea that competes with mackerel.”
The website also notes that Änkôr has a “very extensive” list of beers, spirits and wines.
“Coffeeaholic. Lifelong alcohol fanatic. Typical travel expert. Prone to fits of apathy. Internet trailblazer.”
