Ottawa will welcome not only those Afghans who have assisted the Canadian military, but also those whose status corresponds to humanitarian programs.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has pledged to welcome 40,000 Afghans who are being evacuated from Afghanistan by the United States and other countries.
He announced it on Tuesday, October 12 on Twitter. “Canada will host 40,000 refugees, and we urge others to step up their efforts to resettle refugees safely,” he wrote.
