Canada suspended military mission in Ukraine: Politics: World: Lenta.ru

Canada has suspended a military training mission in Ukraine due to a coronavirus outbreak among military personnel. It is reported by RIA Novosti in reference to the broadcast of the television channel CBC News.

According to the representative of the Canadian Joint Operations Command, Alexia Kreuser, the decision has been made to protect the members of the task force and to combat the spread of the coronavirus infection.

She added that staff members with the confirmed diagnosis were in isolation.

According to the Globe and Mail, approximately 200 soldiers are involved in the Canadian mission, they are dispersed in 12 different locations in Ukraine. The number of infected soldiers was not disclosed, however, according to the newspaper, a large outbreak was recorded at a combat training center in Yavoriv, ​​western Ukraine.
