Canada has introduced a new standard travel certificate for the Covid-19 vaccine. It will have a built-in QR code for scanning at airports, train stations and other entry points.
Proof of vaccination will bear a Canadian identification mark and will comply with major international standards for smart health cards.
The document will include the person’s name, date of birth, and history of Covid-19 vaccination, including the doses a person received and the date they were inoculated.
Canadians will not be able to board a plane for domestic or foreign travel without a vaccination certificate as of November 30, 2021.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced that his government will launch a new standardized travel certificate for vaccination against Covid-19.
For Trudeaul, “as Canadians seek to resume travel, there will be standardized proof of vaccination certificates,” while urging Canadian citizens who have not yet done so to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
He also confirmed that the national government will pay for the deployment of the standardized vaccination passport. “We’ll foot the bill,” Trudeau said
The new digital travel document is called Vaccine passport.
