Canada has decided to repatriate the families of embassy employees in Haiti: Politics: World: Lenta.ru

Foreign Affairs Canada has decided to send home some of the staff and families of diplomats from the Embassy in Haiti. It is reported by TASS.

“The security situation in Haiti is deteriorating rapidly. The Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken the decision to temporarily withdraw support staff and family members of employees of the Canadian Embassy in Haiti, ”the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry said diplomats and consular staff would remain in Port-au-Prince to assist Canadians in that country.

Security concerns began in the island nation after the presidential residence was killed at the head of the country Jovenel Moise. Now armed groups kidnap all over the land of people, taken hostage carry passengers, and one of the largest Haitian gangs threatens violently overthrow the current Prime Minister, Ariel Henri, unless he voluntarily resigns. The politician who called for his resignation suspects him of being involved in the assassination of the president.
