Canada Goose rescued at Genpact

by Naomi Parham

Ciudad Juárez.- The migratory bird season in April and May allows species such as the Canadian goose to be seen in Juárez, and a specimen of this species was rescued after it was found injured.

Veterinarian David Baylón, head of the municipality’s animal welfare department, reported that a report had been received from workers at the Genpact maquila to protect the bird.

During the assessment of his condition, a wire attached to his right leg was identified, for which he was sedated to remove the material, as he is a territorial bird and he did not allow anyone to approach him.

He specified that the general state of health of this specimen is good, it weighs 5 kilos and is housed at the Center for adoption and rescue of domestic animals (RAMM) of the Municipality, it will be fed with a mixture of seeds during his stay.

Due to the conditions in which it was found, the doctor estimates that the Canada goose can be released in about four days in the lake of the DIF park, where it should resume its flight.

If a wildlife employee is located, it is recommended that they be reported to 911 or to the Ecology address telephone number 656 737 0000, extension 70501.
