Even halfway around the world, BC continues to be in cycling thanks to the efforts of Maggie Coles-Lyster, who recently competed in the Paris-Roubaix Femmes in France.
Five Canadian racers competed in this women’s division of the historic cobblestone road race.
Coles-Lyster posted the third-best performance among the Canadian women’s racers, finishing the 145.5km race in three hours, 54 minutes and 17 seconds.
This was just 11 minutes and 21 seconds behind fastest Canadian Alison Jackson, who was the overall winner of the race and gave Canada their first ever Paris Roubaix Femmes victory.
As a member of the Zaaf Cycling Team, Coles-Lyster outperformed all of her teammates to finish 68th, with fellow rider Debora Silvestri right behind her in 69th.

68 – Maggie Coles-Lyster (Maple Ridge, BC), 03:54:17
OOT — Gabrielle Pilote-Fortin (Neuville, Que.) was running out of time
OOT — Sara Poidevin (Canmore, Alta.) was running out of time
Coles-Lyster will now prepare for her next race on April 10th which will be the Ronde de Mouscron in Belgium.
