Arlene Dickinson to speak at first Women in Business conference – Kelowna News

Dragon will give the keynote speech

A new conference for women in business will feature a well-known Canadian entrepreneur as a guest speaker.

Arlene Dickinson will deliver the keynote address at the inaugural Women in Business conference, taking place on Thursday, October 12, at the Laurel Packinghouse in downtown Kelowna.

The Chartered Financial Analyst Society Okanagan is coordinating the conference, which will bring together female leaders and participants in an open, intimate setting. Dickinson, an entrepreneur and venture capitalist, is best known for her role on the CBC series Dragons’ Den.

“Arlene Dickinson’s keynote will focus on reinvention, delving into the why and how of reinvention at every stage of life from the perspective of one of Canada’s leading entrepreneurs and venture capitalists who has done just that,” said Kwame Boateng, President of the CFA Society Okanagan Boateng said in a press release.

The conference will also feature a fireside chat with Tracy Medve, President and CEO of KF Aerospace, Shauna Harper, CEO of WeBC, and Pardeep Khrod, Vice President of the BC Cancer Foundation.

Others who will serve as presenters or workshop presenters include Pamela Pearson of Sentes Automotive, Joy Playford of Playford Performance Group and Jillian Climie of The Thoughtful Co.
