“The ‘Nomad’ project is an attempt to understand our individual and our common nomad, its material and metaphysical aspects through the statics of a biased observer. Thousands of years of forced and voluntary wanderings have forged a particular relationship to time and space among nomadic ethnic groups, explains Alexeï Dmitriev. – The search for the “promised land” and the passionate desire to look beyond the horizon in an incredible way merged with the understanding of the only “here and now” of value. The endless horizontal of the Great Steppe, tragically separated from the Eternal Heavens, acquires a new mystical union with them only in the presence of a living vertical – a person, a Nomad. The impartial observation of the world by this eternally moving subject, the feeling of himself as a kind of center, the protagonist on the endless arena of the steppe attraction of Life, became the starting point of metaphysics nomad ”.
