Canada’s largest airline says an unauthorized group briefly breached an internal system linked to some employees’ personal information and records.
Air Canada said in a statement today that no customer information was accessed in the cyberattack.
The Montreal-based company says flight operating systems and publicly accessible platforms are not affected.
It says it contacted people whose information was involved and notified the relevant authorities.
With all systems now back up to speed, Air Canada says it has made additional safety improvements to prevent future incidents.
The company is the latest victim in the endless string of cyberattacks to hit Canadian companies, which so far this year have included Suncor Energy and grocery giant Empire.
