THE São Paulo One last attempt to hire Soteldo, the Toronto, Canada forward, who shone at Santos until last year. The club understand that a deal is difficult, but are awaiting a response from the Canadians.
The French Council offers a one-year loan with an option to purchase 50% of the rights with a fixed value at the end of this period. According to people at the club, the proposal has reached “the limit” of the conditions of the São Paulo.

The values are high, according to these sources, but with Soteldo the board would fulfill the mission of delivering Rogério Ceni the dribbling striker who is one of the coach’s priorities for this season.
Soteldo was signed by Toronto in April for around R $ 34million, but he hasn’t had a good season in the American League.
He is part of a list of three players that each club can have above the league salary cap. Toronto, however, is keen to hire Italian Insigne, who is expected to fill one of those vacancies, forcing the club to release one of these athletes.
A first contact of the São Paulo was rejected by Canadians when the Brazilians suggested a simple loan – Toronto agrees to negotiate the sale of the rights.
Another obstacle is Soteldo’s salary, which is considered high by current standards of the São Paulo.
Despite this, the club have not given up and are awaiting contact from Toronto regarding this latest proposal.
Douglas Costa is another player in the tricolor sights – which also implies high numbers – but expectations for Morumbi’s business were better.
