Minera Media Luna Company donated more than 400 lenses to carry out health care sessions in 8 of the 11 communities around the mining site of the municipality of Cocula, where it has invested more than 150,000 pesos for the benefit of the elderly.
The subsidiary of the Canadian consortium Torex Gold Resources Inc indicated that, as part of its social support programs, it has led a vision health campaign aimed at the elderly, to whom it is directing its efforts at the end of the year and that have a better quality of life.
The campaign message #To see you better Its objective was to improve the quality of life of the elderly, who received free glasses after a medical examination, and who subsequently determined the needs of each of the more than 400 beneficiaries.

In coordination with the commissioners and commissioners of each place, the visual health days have reached Nuevo Balsas, Valerio Trujano, Atzcala, Real de Limón, La Fundición, San Nicolás, Acalmantlila and Tlanipatlán.
The community relations officer of the mining company Media Luna, Caroline Vazquez Quiroz, reported that the vision health campaign began in October, however, there were schedules given the demands of the pandemic as it is an area of society in need of special care.
He pointed out that this is the second campaign carried out by the company, the first was carried out in 2017 and each year the budget is allocated to different programs of this type, for example, in 2019 the campaign was carried out on oral health and later last year the donation of orthotics.
