In Christmas message, Trudeau says “better days ahead” despite difficult year

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said there are still reasons for Canadians to be optimistic despite the current crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In his annual Christmas message, Trudeau says that while 2021 has been another difficult year, Canadians have been through it together.

He says that last year, Canadians helped their neighbors, supported local businesses, avoided social gatherings and wore masks to protect each other.

Trudeau says Canadians should think about how they can support efforts to mitigate the effects of the pandemic now and into the New Year.

The Prime Minister calls on Canadians to “keep showing up” by following public health measures and encouraging their friends and family to get vaccinated and boosted.

Despite COVID-19 cases rising across the country, Trudeau says there are better days ahead that Canadians will reach together.
