Mother’s Day is still celebrated in Indonesia on December 22.
There is a story behind the existence of Mother’s Day, which was initiated by the meeting of women combatants at the Women’s Congress in the same year as the Youth Engagement, namely in 1928 as the city of kotaku.pu.go.id.
The congress was held in Yogyakarta and brought together around 30 women’s organizations from 12 cities in Java and Sumatra.

The congress was organized to form the Indonesian Women’s Congress (Kowani).
Then, the purpose of holding the congress is to unite ideals and efforts to advance Indonesian women and combine Indonesian women’s organizations regardless of their religious, political and social position in society.
Please note that Mother’s Day is different from Mother’s Day in the United States and Canada which is celebrated on the second Sunday in May.
