The first stop of the International Paralympic Committee Cross-Country Skiing and Biathlon World Cup ended in Canmore, Canada. The Russian national team included Yulia Mikheeva, who was born and began training in the Kozhevnikovsky district of the Tomsk region, according to the regional department of physical education and sports.
In the biathlon races, Julia won silver in the six-kilometer sprint with two shooting steps, on which the girl never failed. In the 10 km race with four shooting lines, Yulia Mikheeva also shot cleanly and took third place. Previously, the athlete participated in the sprint race, where she took third place in the standing category.
“In general, I’m happy with the stage in Canada, it’s too early to talk about form, because the most important start will be in March 2022. I hope the result will grow from race to race”, – Yulia Mikheeva herself commented on her performance.
Note that in January 2022, the biathlete plans to take part in the World Championship, which will take place in Norway, as well as the second stage of the World Cup in Sweden.
More than 120 athletes from 15 countries have participated in the current competition.
As reported in the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the region, Yulia Mikheeva has been training since 2013 at the Kozhevnikovskaya CYSS under the leadership of Alexander Turenko. In 2015, Yulia became a member of the Russian Paralympic biathlon team. She is now a master of sports and lives in Moscow.
