Kraft Heinz restructures its activities in North America

PITTSBURGH – The Kraft Heinz Co. is considering combining its Canadian and US business units to create the North America zone. The goal of the restructuring is to improve the agility of the unit’s innovation efforts and operations in the region, according to the company.

When completed in the second quarter of fiscal 2022, the North America zone will account for approximately 80% of Kraft Heinz sales in 2020. Carlos Abrams-Rivera, currently president of the US zone, will lead the new business unit.

The North America zone will have three components: taste, meals and out of home; fresh, drinks and desserts; and coffee from Canada and North America. Pedro Navio, currently President of Latin America, will lead the Taste, Meal and Out of Home component. Steve Cornell, currently President of Enhancers, Specialties and Out of Home, will lead the Fresh, Beverage and Dessert unit. Adam Butler, currently president of the company’s kids, snacks and beverages, will lead the combined Canada and North America operations.

Bruno Keller, currently President of the Canada Zone, will assume the position of President of Latin America, which will be part of the Kraft Heinz International Zone.

Robert Scott has also been named president of research and development for Kraft Heinz. Mr. Scott was previously Division Vice President of Global Product Development at Abbott Nutrition. He will oversee the renovation, innovation and commercialization strategies of Kraft Heinz
