A Canadian couple must pay for breaking the curfew in Quebec.
The couple were caught red-handed on Saturday night while walking through Sheerbrooke in southern Quebec province.
The man was according to BBC News attached to a dog leash held by the woman.
The recent curfew in Quebec, hard hit by covid-19, applies between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.
At 9 p.m., the couple were observed walking towards the center with the dog leash attached to the man.
When police arrived at the scene, the woman said she only broadcast her dog and stressed that the broadcast of dogs was allowed during curfew.
Authorities in Quebec have ruled that dog owners can go outside during the relevant time to ventilate their dogs, but only within one kilometer of the home.
Refuses to cooperate
The police did not entirely agree that it was a dog that was broadcast in this case and fined the woman 1,546 Canadian dollars, or more than 10,000 crowns.
She refused to adopt him.
Isabelle Gendron of the Sheerbrooke Police Department says The gallery that “the couple did not cooperate with the police at all.”
Hard to stay inside
The curfew in Quebec was put in place last week, and it was only the first weekend that police imposed, according to CTV News 750 fines for residents who did not stay inside.
The province of Quebec has had over 230,000 confirmed covid-19 infections, and nearly 8,000 have died from or with the virus since the start of the pandemic.
