Among the new partnerships highlighted in the UK Foundation Portal, Curitiba is the only representative of the public sector.
Curitiba and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation formalized, last September, a partnership to strengthen the transition to a circular economy in the capital of Paraná. The partnership with the foundation was transmitted through the Institute of Research and Urbanism of Curitiba (IPpuc).

Launched on November 2, the program runs until the 7th. Each week a different discussion topic on public policies involving food systems, across the fields of design, finance, among others, is covered. The Ellen MacArthur Foundation will also collaborate with the Bairro Novo do Caximba Climate Risk Management project, a municipality initiative with funding from the French Development Agency (AFD).
circular economy
The circular economy is based on three design principles: eliminating waste and pollution, circulating products and materials at their highest value and regenerating nature. In a circular economy, business models, products and materials are designed to increase their use and reuse, creating an economy where there is no waste and where everything has value.
Based on a transition to renewable energies and renewable materials, a circular economy is distributed, diversified and inclusive.
