WASHINGTON, November 16 – RIA Novosti. Canada has imposed sanctions on 11 Nicaraguan officials for human rights violations, the Canadian Foreign Ministry said. Canadian citizens cannot carry out any financial transactions with them. This is the third package of sanctions against senior Nicaraguan officials. Previously, the Canadian authorities had put on the sanctions list more than 20 people associated with the president of the country Daniel Ortega, including his daughter Camila Ortega, vice-president and at the same time first lady of Nicaragua Rosario Maria Murillo de Ortega, head of government Central Bank Leonardo Ramirez, Minister of Finance Ivan Adolfo Acosta Montalvana: Similar sanctions had already been imposed by the United Kingdom and the United States.
