Speed skater Ruslan Zakharov won silver in World Cup mass start in Poland
Russian skater Ruslan Zakharov became the silver medalist in the mass start of the first stage of the World Cup, which takes place in Tomaszow (Poland). The victory was won by the Japanese Masahito Obayashi. The third was the Pole Zbigniew Brudka.
Russian woman at a distance of 1000 m Angelina Golikova took fourth place, dropping 0.11 seconds in the fight for bronze against Japan’s Nao Kodaira. American Brittany Bowe took the track record.
In the women’s team race, Russians Natalya Voronina, Elizaveta Golubeva and Elena Sokhryakova took sixth place. The Canadians won.
