Japanese automaker Subaru has unveiled its first 2022 Subaru Solterra series electric SUV. Presentation available on the company’s website.
Subaru created an electric car with Toyota, which in October presented an almost similar bZ4X crossover, which differs from the Subaru Solterra only in a few nuances: a grille, the shape of the fog lights, etc.

The Subaru Solterra crossover is offered both in a front-wheel drive version with a 150 kW electric motor, and in an all-wheel drive version with two 80 kW electric motors on each axle.
In the alliance with Toyota, Subaru was responsible for tuning the all-wheel drive system, so the Solterra has more advanced capabilities than its twin bZ4X.
Depending on the type of propulsion, the range of the crossover can reach 460 km for the all-wheel drive version, or 530 km for the front-wheel drive.
The panoramic canopy can be replaced by a solar panel which will supply the on-board equipment when stationary and recharge the traction battery.
Subaru Solterra will go on sale in Japan, the United States, Canada, Europe and China by the middle of next year.
The company will announce pricing and configurations later.
