Confirm Kompas.com
Fact-checking team Kompas.com the video confirmed to Pussainsa LAPAN researcher Andi Princeg.
“After seeing the video it was a hoax,” Andi told him. Kompas.com, Saturday (29/5/2021).
Andi said the video was not a lunar eclipse video. But the video simulated that the moon was 10 times closer than it is today.
“There it is not a lunar eclipse but a solar eclipse, more precisely the occultation of the sun, because the size of the moon is much larger than that of the sun,” Andi said.
As for the video, according to Andi, it was an edited video and juxtaposing it with the account that it was a lunar eclipse made some misinformation.
“The video itself is more of a montage, or yes, the technical language: simulation. Because with the current distance from the moon (384,400 km), the size (which is visible to the eye) is always the same , not as big as in the video, ”Andi added.
Additionally, if the video is related to the total lunar eclipse (GBT) that occurred on May 26, it is also incorrect.
Andi explained that the last GBT was not visible at both poles. He said that judging from the visibility map, the lunar eclipse did not occur at the North Pole but did occur at the South Pole.
However, because the sun is in the northern hemisphere, at the South Pole, the moon will not rise. Thus, the GBT cannot be seen from either the North Pole or the South Pole.
“As for the May 26 GBT, which I reiterated yesterday, it cannot be seen at both poles,” Andi said.
He said the public should be more vigilant if there are any videos whose captions are inappropriate and appear to be exaggerated.
Similar videos are also widely shared abroad with similar stories. One of them was shared by the @ ArunDeshpande20 Twitter account.
Here is the story:
“Imagine yourself sitting in this place
during the day (between Russia
and Canada in the Arctic).
The moon appears at this size
then disappears in about
30 seconds and blocks the sun
for five seconds …. on the way!
Glory to Almighty God!

But according to research The footprint, the video is by TikTok user Aleksey__nz.
This video is an animated video. Previously, the user had also made a video of a UFO over the moon and it went viral. He often uploads animated videos to his TikTok account.
During a full moon, many photographers zoom into the moon with a distant object in the foreground, making it appear taller than a building or tree.
However, the angle of the video makes the moon appear quite close to the object around it. Even though the moon is not as close as the video shows when seen from such a close place without a clear zoom.
In the clip, there is also no reflection of the Moon in the lake below. The moon also appears too bright to be seen as the sun rises.
The moon also does not rotate on its axis in the video. Then, as it passes through the camera to the opposite side, the far side of the Moon appears.
This is impossible because the Moon is linked to the Earth due to the tide and Earth people can only see one side of the Moon at a time.
In addition, it is not true that the video would have been shot in the arctic region between the territory of Russia and Canada, as the grassland areas seen there indicate that the video is from different terrain than that. of the snowy arctic.
Conclusion
The information disseminated by the Facebook account of the store of Umi Fatimah is a hoax or not, because the video is not a video of a recent lunar eclipse.
The video is animated only and it is incorrect to claim that it was shot between Russia and Canada.
