Former Moscow “Spartak” and USSR national team midfielder Yuri Gavrilov shares his thoughts on the national team’s upcoming matches with Croatia and Cyprus in the qualifying phase World Cup – 2022.
“I’m not interested in the game against Cyprus. I will look at other teams. We will beat Cyprus, but the Croats will beat us. Most likely with a minimal account. In the end, the Croatian national team will come out in first place, and we will play in the seams.
I could see what the Russian national team would look like against the backdrop of Italy. But ours are playing with a sort of garbage. Why should I watch something that is not interesting “, – quotes the words of the veteran “Championship.com”.
The meeting between the national teams of Russia and Croatia will take place on November 14 in Split. On November 11, Russian footballers will play in St. Petersburg with Cyprus.
The Russian national team leads qualifying group H with 19 points and is two points ahead of the second-placed Croatian team.
Earlier, former Spartak defender Yevgeny Lovchev said that will help the Russian national team in the upcoming 2022 World Cup selection matches.
