Tiptap Foundation and Toronto Alliance to End Homelessness launch campaign to raise funds for local organizations

by Tess Hutchinson

“Being faced with the problem is the only way to overcome homelessness,” said Marc jordan, Managing Director, tiptap Foundation. “Through See it. Face it. End it., we shine a light on the organizations and individuals who saw the problem, faced it, and worked to end it. As the use of cash continues to decline, it has been difficult for many organizations to collect donations in person. This campaign, powered by tiptap technology, offers a contactless donation ™ solution to facilitate donation and have a direct impact on the front lines to end homelessness. ”

To encourage people to donate, the Tiptap Foundation and TAEH share inspiring stories of people working in these organizations supporting the homeless community in Toronto. Melody Li Homeless Connect Toronto, for example, has helped more than 5,000 people connect with the essential services they need, such as health care, housing, employment assistance and skills training. Angela Robertson of PQWCHC has established a COVID-19 recovery site where homeless people now have access to a safe space to recover from the virus and connect to housing.

Eleanor Bothwell, Director of Red door shelter, saved the shelter from demolition when the building was sold to a developer. “Many of us come from privileged backgrounds where we can easily access food and safe housing,” Bothwell commented. “I encourage people to exercise this privilege of giving back. Their gifts, however simple two dollars, will really help us to help those who need it. “

The eight-week campaign includes outdoor advertising in from Toronto Yonge and Dundas Square, on the entire Captivate network and on the TTC metro platforms. Educational facilities and non-contact donation terminals with tap to donate amounts of $ 2, $ 5 and $ 10 are located in high traffic areas through Toronto including the CF Toronto Eaton Center, the Yonge Eglinton Center, and Oxford Properties locations such as the Bay-Adelaide Center.

As presenting sponsor, Cadillac Fairview will host a facility at the CF Toronto Eaton Center in November 17 to December 17, 2021, to highlight how Melody, Angela and Eleanor, and their teams, help homeless people and to encourage giving. With a tiptap device installed next to each story highlight, guests can safely and easily press to donate ™ to the organizations featured in the facility as well as other local agencies including stories and work. are featured in this campaign.

“This is an exciting campaign for us,” said Kira heineck, executive director, TAEH. “Not only will much-needed funds be raised to support local agencies, but the stories of some of the many frontline heroes who work tirelessly to help people on their journey home each day will be shared widely. These are people and teams who try new things, take risks and hardly ever get recognized. Kudos to tip tap Foundation for creating and sharing this campaign with us – and for highlighting the end of roaming. is possible!”

The See it. Face it. End it. campaign also supports the Vancouver community through directory facilities at Cadillac Fairview’s CF Pacific Center, and Oxford Properties will host devices at its downtown properties. Funds collected in Vancouver will be directed to the Kettle Society, the Downtown Eastside Women Center and the Covenant House.

“We are proud to partner with the tiptap Foundation to deliver this innovative fundraising program at the CF Toronto Eaton Center and the CF Pacific Center,” commented Patricia ing, brand director, Cadillac Fairview. “Cadillac Fairview recently announced its renewed approach to philanthropy, supporting organizations like tiptap to address key community concerns, including homelessness. Now more than ever, Canadians are looking for transparent ways to give back and we believe this campaign will resonate strongly with our guests this holiday season. “
