Comedian, actor and host Norm Mcdonald has died at the age of 61. This has been confirmed by Variety, Tuesday (9/14) US time.
Norm died after battling cancer. He would have had cancer for at least 10 years.
One of the representatives of the Mcdonald family said the late Norm Mcdonald was a figure who could represent comedy in America.
“Norma is original! She defines American humor with honesty and real strength,” said Jeff Danis.
A number of fellow comedians have paid tribute to the passing of Norm Mcdonald via social media, including Seth Rogen, Jon Stewart, Ron Funches and others.
Comedians and parents of actors define Norm Mcdonald as “one of the greatest comedians who ever lived”.
“I could stay up late watching him (Norm Mcdonald) on talk shows. He’s the funniest guest ever. We lost the comedy giants today,” Seth Rogen wrote. on Twitter.
Norm Mcdonald began his career as a comedian in 1992 in Canadian comedy clubs. His popularity increased when he joined the Saturday Night Live show in 1993.
However, its role in hosting the Weekend Update segment had to be replaced by Coling Quinn in 1998.
After leaving Saturday Night Live, Macdonald did The Norm Show with Bruce Helford on ABC, which ran from 1999 to 2001.
In addition to being a host and comedian, Norm Mcdonald has also starred in a number of films such as Billy Madison, The People vs. Larry Flynt and voiced the dog in Dr. Small.
