Singaraja Bali Immigration Dejects Canadian Citizen Due to 100 Day Override

Denpasar (ANTARA) – The Class II Immigration Office of TPI Singaraja, Bali has expelled a Foreign Citizen (WNA) from Canada with the initials YB, for exceeding the period of the residence permit or extended stay for 100 days.

“The foreign national has exceeded the time limit for 100 days. The residence permit held by the foreigner is valid until July 3, 2021, so that he is liable to deportation,” said the head of the regional office. of the Ministry of Justice and Justice. Human Rights (Kemenkumham) Bali Jamaruli Manihuruk in a press release, in Denpasar, Bali, Saturday.

He stated that the expulsion was carried out because the foreigner had violated immigration in accordance with article 78 paragraph (3) of law no. 6 of 2011 regarding immigration.

This Canadian foreign national was secured by the immigration office on September 27, 2021, in the village of Poh Santen, in the Jembrana regency, after discovering that his residence permit was invalid.

While in Bali, he has a Visiting Residence Permit (ITK) which was obtained independentlydown. Previously, Jamaruli said, this Canadian foreigner lived with a Limited Residence Permit Card for Family Unification (KITAS).

“He (the Canadian foreigner) was married and divorced, so he could no longer use KITAS Family Unification and switched to ITK. Then in 2020 he remarried a religiously legal but unregistered Balinese man,” Jamaruli said.

Of the two marriages, the person concerned did not have children and was considered negligent in obtaining or obtaining a residence permit, as she did not extend the ITK which had exceeded the Validity period.

Moreover, while in Bali, YB did not have a job and relied only on the money he received from his country.

The deportation process was carried out by Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Saturday (2/10).
