Adam Svensson of Surrey, British Columbia, races after the second round at the 2024 Black Desert Championship in Ivins, Utah. His score at this point is -13, one shot behind Stephan Jaeger of Germany.

Svensson made golf headlines on Thursday with a first-round score of 60, his best single-round score of his PGA career. He scored nine birdies and one eagle in 18 holes, a remarkable score of -11. Svensson birdied the first, fifth, ninth, 10th, 13th, 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th holes and made an eagle on the seventh hole.

There is currently a duel for second place. Svensson is tied with American Ben Kohles from Dallas, Texas. Jager is at -14.

Five other golfers are now in the running. There is a four-way tie for fourth place at -12, two strokes back. The Swede Henrik Norlander and the Americans Matt McCarty, Harris English and Sam Ryder can be found there. Norlander has a connection to Canada, having lost in a playoff to Mackenzie Hughes of Hamilton, Ontario at the 2016 RSM Classic in St. Simons Island, Georgia. Meanwhile, American Lee Hodges is three shots back at -11 and alone in eighth place.

Svensson has won once on the PGA Tour. Ironically, his victory came at the 2022 RSM Classic.
