TORONTO – Coldplay is doubling its concert dates in Toronto. The British rock group announce that it will extend its scheduled shows at the yet-to-be-opened Rogers Stadium to July 11 and 12 next year. This is in addition to the previously announced dates on July 7th and 8th at the open-air venue, which has yet to be built. Tickets for the new dates go on sale today at 1:00 p.m. ET. The shows are Coldplay’s only Canadian dates on the Music of the Spheres World Tour and will be among the first at the new stadium north of Toronto. Live Nation plans to build Rogers Stadium on the site of the former Downsview Airport next to Downsview Park before next summer. It will have a capacity for 50,000 ticket holders. Coldplay’s tour is scheduled to hit cities such as London, Hong Kong, Seoul and parts of Australia. This report by The Canadian Press was first published Oct. 11, 2024. 9
