Kolby Wanchuk of Sherwood Park, Alberta, leads the Group B saddle bronc standings at the 2024 Calgary Stampede. Riding the bronc Alberta Moon, Wanchuk earned a score of 87.5 on Monday.

Wanchuk actually ranks first in the overall Group B saddle bronco standings. The other cowboy to score 87.5 points was Chase Brooks of Deer Lodge, who accomplished the feat on Falkland Playboy. Wanchuk and Brooks both won $6,250. Third place went to Trenton Burd of Madison, Kansas, who scored 85 points on a bronco horse named Big Surprise.

Interestingly, Wanchuk comes from a rodeo family. His father Ricky was a professional rodeo clown, his mother Joan was a barrel racer, and his brother Kyle was involved in tie-down roping. So far, Wanchuk has won the 2024 Parado Del Sol in Scottsdale, Arizona.
