Avril Lavigne plans to keep it simple on her 2024 concert tour and only perform her biggest hits.
The “Complicated” pop singer narrows her setlist down to the songs that have defined her career as part of a 27-date North American tour that begins earlier this summer.
Avril Lavigne: The Greatest Hits Tour kicks off May 22 in Vancouver at Rogers Arena and organizers say they will feature performances of “Sk8er Boi,” “Girlfriend,” “Here’s to Never Growing Up” and her other hit singles will include.
Other dates in Canada include Ottawa on August 14th, Toronto on August 16th and Winnipeg on September 14th. All three shows are supported by Montreal band Simple Plan, who rose to fame in the same pop-punk era.
Lavigne will also stop at the Festival International de Montgolfières in the Montreal area on August 17th and the tour’s final North American show on September 16th in Edmonton.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday via Ticketmaster.
The tour travels through various European countries in the summer, including Austria, the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom.
Lavigne is among a number of popular artists telling fans that their latest tours will be filled only with their most popular songs. Madonna, Bush, the Pet Shop Boys and the Killers are among the other musicians planning “greatest hits” tours this year.
