According to Sean Leahy of Yahoo! Sports Canadian RJ Barrett from Toronto, Ontario will be joining the Toronto Raptors on Saturday. In a blockbuster deal with the National Basketball Association, Barrett, a shooting guard, was traded along with guard Immanuel Quickley and a second-round draft pick in the 2024 NBA Draft for small forward OG Anunoby, point guard Malachi Flynn and center Precious Achiuwa.

The addition of Barrett is significant for the Raptors franchise. He was selected with the third overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Only Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans and Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies were selected for Barrett.

In the 2023-24 season, Barrett is averaging 18.2 points per game, 4.3 rebounds per game and 2.4 assists per game. He has a field goal percentage of .423, a three-point percentage of .331 and a free throw percentage of .831.

Quickley should also be a strong asset. He averages 15 points per game, 2.6 rebounds per game, 2.5 assists per game, with a field goal percentage of .454, a three-point percentage of .395 and a free throw percentage of .872.

Anunoby was part of the Raptors team that won the 2019 NBA Finals. He led the NBA with 1.9 steals per game last season. In the 2023–24 season, Anunoby averaged 15.1 points per game, 3.9 rebounds per game, 2.6 assists per game, one steal per game, .489 field goal percentage, three-point percentage of .374 and a free throw percentage of .717.
