TORONTO – “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown has been added to the Fan Expo Canada lineup.
The four-day pop culture conference says the actress will be available for autographs, photos and a panel discussion.
Brown joins recently announced guests including “Cobra Kai” stars Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, Ming-Na Wen from “The Book of Boba Fett” and “Agents of SHIELD” and Stephen Amell from “Arrow” and ” The Flash.”
The guest list is growing amid two Hollywood strikes by unionized actors and writers that have closed sets and some red carpets.
The Screen Actors Guild’s strike rules require its members not to promote work completed under television and theater contracts, including at conventions and fan shows.
According to Fan Expo Canada, the majority of celebrities attending the convention are not promoting major studio or streamer projects, so the strike is not expected to have an impact on events.
“Autographs, photo ops and panels will take place as planned and are permitted in accordance with strike guidelines,” it said in a statement on Wednesday.
“We look forward to an exciting Fan Expo season and, as always, will keep fans updated on any changes and additions. We hope that there will be a quick solution for everyone involved.”
Fan Expo Canada’s celebration of genre fare and fandom takes place August 24-27 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
The all-ages event is considered the largest comics, science fiction, horror, anime and gaming event in Canada and the third largest pop culture event in North America.
