NEW YORK (AP) — The Norfolk Southern Railroad is recovering from a “hardware-related technology outage” that impacted its rail systems Monday, but the impact could last for at least a couple more weeks.
The railroad said there was no evidence the outage was linked to a cybersecurity incident.
All system functionality was restored by 7 p.m. ET Monday, the company said, and the rail network was back online.
Norfolk is in touch with its customers and working on Tuesday to get supplies where they are supposed to be.
