Real Fruit Bubble Tea has opened its first location on Long Island.
The Canadian chain opened this week in the food court on the second level of Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream.
With over 100 stores, Real Fruit Bubble Tea was founded in 2002 in Toronto, Canada. The brand is known for its handcrafted beverages and fresh teas brewed from loose tea and expresso tea makers. The drinks are made from real fruit processed on site.
The bubble tea chain is in the midst of a major expansion and plans to open another 50 branches by the end of the year.
“With over 100 locations, Real Fruit Bubble Tea now offers more than 1,300 employment opportunities across Canada and the United States,” Jimmy Liu, the company’s chief executive officer, said in a written statement. “We are confident that Green Acres, with its combination of Long Island and Queens visitors, will be the ideal location to begin our expansion throughout New York.”
Green Acres Mall is owned and operated by Macerich, based in Santa Monica, California, which currently owns 47 million square feet of real estate primarily consisting of interests in 44 regional city centers.
“As Real Fruit Bubble Tea continues to expand its presence in the United States, we are pleased that they have selected Green Acres Mall as their premier Long Island location,” Green Acres Marketing Manager Jill Bromberg said in the statement. “Real Fruit Bubble Tea provides our visitors with fresh fruit beverages that are healthy and accessible, creating a new culinary destination for residents and visitors of Nassau County.”
