Indigenous entrepreneurs can now apply to take part in the show.
Last year, the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) started a The Dragon’s LairThe 1960s-themed show focuses on Indigenous businesses across Canada and has just been renewed for a second season.
From Thursday (June 15) bear cave invites Indigenous Entrepreneurs to apply as participants, who will be given the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a jury who will guide them in refining their concepts. Winners will receive a share of $160,000.
“This is a life-changing opportunity for aspiring Indigenous business owners as the prize money will help bring their best business concepts to life,” reads a press release.
Both new and familiar faces will return to the judging panel in season two. Business moguls Geena Jackson, Tabatha Bull and Dave Tuccaro will return as Bears, and the jury will also welcome a new judge: Clint Davis, former President and CEO of Nunasi Corporation and an Inuk from Nunatsiavut.
“I’m so excited to be a bear bear cave. I can’t wait to work with my fellow bears and see the creativity that will emerge in our communities,” says Davis.
“I am really looking forward to the second season of bear cave and to be part of a project that showcases Indigenous entrepreneurs across the country,” reiterates Tabatha Bull, President and CEO of the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business.
“I’m looking forward to getting to know the contestants of this season and I’m sure that like last season, each episode will be full of surprises, inspiring people and fascinating stories.”
