Aston Martin is confident of remaining competitive in Formula 1 despite recent challenges and the introduction of major upgrades by rival teams.
The team plans to introduce upgrades to the Canadian Grand Prix to improve its performance.
While Aston Martin struggled at the Spanish Grand Prix, finishing behind Mercedes and Ferrari, team boss Mike Krack believes the order behind Red Bull hasn’t changed much.
Driver Fernando Alonso has been pushing Aston Martin to make further updates to the car to stay at the front of the field and Krack admitted it was a valid request.
“He’s right when he’s asking and urging us,” Krack said. “Something is coming in Canada. It will be a step.”
He acknowledges Fernando Alonso’s calls for more upgrades but assures fans there are already plans for improvements.
Krack points out that the team’s performance stabilized during the Barcelona race as everyone switched to harder tyres.
Aston Martin remains optimistic about its position in the development race and aims to remain competitive in the regular battle for podiums.
