Russia, Canada to shoot series on Super Series-1972 hockey – Gazeta.Ru

Canadian film companies Connect3 Media and Yap Films and Russian studio 1-2-3 Production will shoot a joint documentary series on the 1972 Canada-USSR Ice Hockey Super Series. The working title of the project is “72”. It is reported by Variety.

The show will be produced by Dan Diamond, author of hockey books, and Igor kuperman – Former deputy general manager of the Russian national team. The premiere date for the series has not yet been released.

The 1972 USSR-Canada Ice Hockey Super Series, the first of its kind, lasted eight games and ended with an overall victory for the North Americans. The Soviet national team, for which stars such as Vladislav Tretyak, Alexander Yakushev and Valery Kharlamov played, managed to take three games from the Canadians, losing in four with a draw.

The sports drama “Legend No. 17” with Danila Kozlovsky in the title role is dedicated to the first game of this Super Series.
