Schott’s Creek Star Eugene Levy and Victor Garber have been inducted into the Order of Canada’s New Year’s Roll of Honor in recognition of their achievements at home and in Hollywood.
Emmy-winner Levy was promoted to Companion of the Order of Canada, the highest rank in Canada’s honor system. The Canadian-born actor, also known for starring in the SCTV Sketch comedy series, was made a member of the Order of Canada in 2011.
Levy received the most recent Order of Canada award “for having elevated Canadian television’s standing on the international stage as an acclaimed actor and producer.”
Levy’s additional credits include roles in the american cake Franchise, Best in Show, Waiting for Guffman And father of the bride II.
Garber, a stage and screen veteran with film credits such as Argo, Milk, Titanic, Naturally Blonde, The First Wives Club And Sleepless in Seattleand TV roles playing Jack Bristow Aliasdr Martin Stein/Firestorm on DC Comics’ Legends of Tomorrow and Admiral Halsey on The Orville, was made an officer of the Order of Canada. Equally ranked was Rich Little, the Canadian-born impressionist voice actor best known for mimicking the voices of former US Presidents and Hollywood stars such as Jimmy Stewart, Jack Lemmon, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone and Jack Nicholson.
Each year Canadians are inducted into the ranks of the Order of Canada in recognition of their achievements. Recent appointments include Martin Katz, who produced David Cronenberg films like Spider, a dangerous method, Cosmopolis And Maps to the Starswhich garnered Julianne Moore the Palme d’Or for Best Actress at Cannes and was made a member of the Order of Canada.
And NHL star Sidney Crosby has been made an officer of the Order of Canada.
