Canada remains unchanged in sixth place FIFA Women Ranking which include Cabo Verde and Saudi Arabia for the first time.
The top 5 is also the same with the US at the top, ahead of Germany, Sweden, England and France.
Around 112 international matches have been played since the last ranking was published in December, including the play-off tournament for this year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
The new ranking includes 188 teams, which is 10 more than at the same time last year
Spain is No. 7, followed by the Netherlands and Brazil. World Cup co-hosts Australia return to the top 10, moving up two places, while no.52 Panama (up five places) and no.103 Kosovo (up eight places) also climb.
No. 21 Portugal (up one) and No. 53 Haiti (up two) joined Panama to book the last available spots at the World Cup.
Cabo Verde, a group of islands west of Senegal in the North Atlantic also known as Cape Verde, enters the rankings at No. 133, with Saudi Arabia at No. 171. The Saudi women made their international debut in February 2022 in a 2nd-0 win over the Seychelles.
North Korea, which was ranked 10th, dropped out of the rankings due to inactivity. According to FIFA, the last match for ranking purposes was a 3–3 draw against Italy on March 6, 2019.
The next women’s world ranking will be published on June 9th.
