Instacart Adds Over 20 New Canadian Retail Partners

Instacart is expanding its operations north of the border.

Grocery tech company adds more than 20 new Canadian retail banners to the Instacart app and increased the number of stores in Canada it delivers from by 60% in 2022, including new and expanded same-day delivery with The Bay, Rexall and laundry box; as well as the Metro Food Basics, Adonis and Super C banners.

Instacart now ships from over 4,000 stores in all 10 Canadian provinces. Customers in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec can now have their groceries delivered in less than an hour from three new Metro banners – Food Basics, Super C and Adonis – in addition to more than 180 Metro stores across the country.

In October 2021, Instacart expanded its presence In Quebec. The company, which originally launched Quebec operations in Montreal in June 2021 have diversified into Quebec, Laval, Gatineau, Longueuil, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Granby, Saint-Hyacinthe, Boucherville, Drummondville, Sherbrooke, Châteauguay, Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Shawinigan, Lévis, Brossard, Repentigny and Blainville.

Customers in these Quebec communities were able to order products online for delivery within an hour from H&M, Pharmaprix, Sephora Canada and Staples Canada (known as Bureau en Gros in Quebec). Instacart also offers French-language services for customers, Instacart shoppers and retailers in Quebec, marking the first time the company has translated its same-day online delivery platform outside of English.
