The tournament has been postponed for the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Orangeville Northmen were the 2019 champions.

“The Minto Cup is back and on behalf of Premier Ford and our government, I am honored to welcome provincial championship teams from across Canada to Brampton and wish all players well as ‘they are competing for this prestigious trophy,’ said Neil Lumsden, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sport. “Thank you to the Ontario Junior Lacrosse League, the City of Brampton and the CAA Center for the hospitality and a special thank you to the coaches, coaches and families who helped these elite athletes get here. “

“The City of Brampton is thrilled to host Canada’s National Junior A Lacrosse Championship in Brampton from August 22-29 at the CAA Centre,” said Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown. “Lacrosse is Canada’s national sport, and I can’t wait to see our provincial teams come together to compete.
