Priscila Stevaux and Bruno Cogo participate in the BMX Cycling World Cup

Two of the biggest names in BMX cycling took action this Saturday (23) for the 5th World Cup stage, this time in Sakarya, Turkey. Priscila Stevaux qualified for the final and finished the stage in fifth place, while Bruno Cogo failed to advance to the semi-finals.

The Brazilian didn’t start well, pedaled straight away in the first heat and finished fifth, having to run in the repechage round, qualifying for the quarters with the third fastest time: 40s275.

In the quarterfinals, Priscila Stevaux faced a battery defined in detail, finishing the lap in fourth place and advancing to the semi-finals, where she managed to be among the best eight times to advance to the final.

In the final, the Brazilian had her fastest time in the stage, finishing in fifth place with a time of 39s241. American Felicia Stancil (37s656) finished first, followed by Czech Eliska Bartunkova (38s445) and Canadian Molly Simpson (38s710).

Cogo did not qualify for the semi-finals

Brazilian Bruno Cogo cycled competitively in the second round, advancing to the quarterfinals in the third with a time of 35s469. But, in the next stage, he finished sixth, setting a fastest time of 36s241.

The podium of the stage was occupied by the Swiss Simon M. Marquart (33s971), the French Joris Daudet (33s975) and also the Swiss Cedric Butti (34s311).

The BMX Cycling World Cup has been on hiatus for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, but has already passed through Verona, Italy, and Bogotá, Colombia. The final four rounds will take place in the Turkish city and define who will win the 2021 World Champions Trophy.
