London Morning associate producer Ryan Soulliere listens to a lot of music every week. One of his duties in the program is to select the tunes that will be played in the show. That’s around 25 songs every week. From this week’s show, here are his top three local and Canadian favorites.

The Royal Foundry – I give up

The Royal Foundry’s latest single I give up has everything you want from a song. Great harmonies and clever lyrics are accompanied by a rousing hook. The band consists of husband and wife team Jared Salte and Bethany Schumacher from Edmonton.

FLEECE – Stay home, boy

Every now and then it’s nice to just sit back and there’s the perfect soundtrack for that Stay home, boy from the Montreal band FLEECE. Don’t let the slow, gentle start fool you. This one goes into banger mode and will probably have you dancing like no one is watching your party.

Fun fact – Bring it back

London’s Fun Fact delivers homegrown funk at its finest. Your song Bring it back is a shining example of the talent that lies within this local trio.
