The Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show will hold its last digital event of 2021 on November 10 with the theme Accelerating Agricultural Innovation. The event showcases ways in which farmers and businesses are taking innovative approaches to improve profitability and resilience on the farm.
“Innovation is at the heart of Canadian agriculture,” says Doug Wagner, chair of the Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show. “This event offers a discussion of some of the great things that are already happening in agriculture, as well as new developments that will impact the future of agriculture.”
The day of the digital event will begin with a live technical panel discussion from the technology writers at Glacier FarmMedia. Scott Garvey, Robin Booker and Ron Lyseng will discuss the new developments and unique innovations they have seen throughout 2021, and attendees will be able to ask questions of the panelists.
Also present two finalists and the two winners of the 2021 Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmer (COYF) program in Ontario. Each business will share how they use original thinking to advance their farming operations. The event will also have an international component featuring selected companies from the economic development agency Invest Northern Ireland, which offers unique solutions to Canadian farmers.
The digital event on November 10 includes these additional presentations:
- Autonomous livestock monitoring using machine vision: CattleEye, based in Belfast, harnesses the capabilities of advanced artificial intelligence (AI) to monitor livestock welfare and behaviors.
- The Quadcrate Comes to Canada: The Northern Ireland Quadcrate is known as the “Swiss Army Knife” of quads with a range of innovative ATV and UTV accessories that allow the transport of small loads.
- Agricultural innovation from Northern Ireland is coming to Canada: bringing the best of Northern Ireland farming to Canadian producers with innovative and reliable farming equipment and farming technologies that help increase profits, manage the land , increase yields and preserve food quality.
- Bold Growth with Raven Driverless Farming Technology: A New Approach to Driverless Farming Technology Delivers Easy-to-Operate Stand-Alone Farming Solutions with OMNiDRIVE ™ and OMNiPOWER ™.
- Fields and Finances: Tales from the Farm Accountant: Facilitator Krista Kilback of FCC AgExpert chats with Kathy Neufeld, manager at Stark and Marsh, about effective farm book management.

Since the launch of the first digital event on March 10, the digital events of the Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show have been an important ongoing source of information for Ontario farmers during the 2021 pandemic.
